September Mission Update

Hailing frequencies open!

It seems like yesterday that Space Rocks held its first ever public event at the Indigo O2 in London. With luminaries like Brian May, Tim Peake and more joining the proceedings, it was a truly unforgettable day, capped off with a headlining set from prog-musician extraordinaire John Mitchell’s space-themed rock band, Lonely Robot. 

So it’s incredibly pleasing to be asked to be a part of the launch of Lonely Robot’s upcoming album. It’s set to be the final release, which makes us a little sad, but like the ultimate fate of the Martian rover that inspired the name, this was only ever going to be bittersweet. If you’re after the record, you can preorder it here on CD and other formats. 

Speaking of bittersweet endings, the Cluster Mission will be concluding next week. The first two of Cluster’s four spacecraft began deorbiting in 2024 and it was the subject of our Seas of the Sun documentary. The final of the four spacecraft will deorbit in the next few hours, and you can read all about it here.

We’ll be at ESOC in Darmstadt watching this incredible mission come to a celebratory close, but we won’t just be watching… We’ll reveal all soon, but for now you’ll just have to watch this space.
