Pride in Space: Kicking Off an Inspiring June

This month we’re thrilled to be teaming up this June with the brilliant Dr. Alfredo Carpineti, astrophysicist, advocate, and Chair of the UK’s largest charity championing LGBTQIA+ representation in STEM. He is also a science writer for IFLScience and the author of an upcoming pop astronomy book Invisible Rainbows.

Alfredo reminds us why space needs pride: despite all the progress we've made, queer scientists still face real barriers, from fewer career opportunities and travel restrictions to a lack of visibility.

As Alfredo puts it: “If Ad Astra Per Aspera is true, we’ve had plenty of hardship—it would be nice to have some stars now.”

All month long, we’ll be working with Alfredo to explore these conversations and spotlight exciting developments in space, so watch this space.
